The Living Room and Nordoff Robbins

A musical partnership

We’re excited to announce that we’ve selected Nordoff Robbins ‘The Music Therapy charity’ as our charity partners for 2011. Music is one of our passions and we see day to day the positive effect music can have on its listeners – a good reason to play live music most evenings and an even better reason then to support a charity where music therapy is used to help transform lives.

Nordoff Robbins works to deliver music therapy and other music services to a broad range of people all over the country from babies to adult; in schools, hospitals and care homes. It also helps people with a range of challenges including autism, dementia, mental health problems, stroke, brain injury, depression and in some cases; our clients have a life-threatening or terminal illness, such as cancer.

Nordoff Robbins Music therapy helps people in many different ways. For some it has physical benefits, for others emotional or social ones. It can help people feel more motivated, social and self-confident. It gives people hope when times are rough. All of these people have one uniting factor - music dramatically improves their quality of life.
