The Oxfordshire Community Covenant is a voluntary statement of mutual support between a civilian community and its local armed forces community.
The aim is to encourage charities, local authorities, businesses, communities and individuals to work together with the military to offer support to service personnel and their families as well as reservists and veterans. We are extremely pleased that the Oxfordshire Living Room has pledged their support to the Oxfordshire Covenant - The Living Room is delighted to be a part of The Covenant and will be supporting all service personnel by giving 20% off their food bill when dining with us. "We want to give something back to the Armed Forces by providing a place where they can all come and enjoy." says Sarah Wolsey, The Living Room Oxford's Sales and Marketing Coordinator.
The aims of the covenant are to:
- encourage local communities to support the armed forces community in their areas, and vice versa
- promote understanding and awareness among the public of issues affecting the armed forces community
- recognise and remember the sacrifices made by the armed forces community
- encourage activities which help to integrate the armed forces community into local life.
